Proovitükk

Sometimes printing on something else than fabric turns out quite interesting, for example on a piece of wood.

Vahest on päris huvitav ka mitte kangale trükkida, näiteks nagu puidule.

Kitchen number  2 is done and up, there`s kitchen number 1 too, but that hasn`t been photographed yet. Anyway, we make special orders and kitchen cabinets are one of these. The door frames and the work top are from solid ash.
More from the photographer here ----> http://signemilkov.com/

Since it is dark and cold and snowy, here`s a little picture remembering last summer, only few months to go.

Väike fotomeenutus eelmisest suvest pimedasse ja külma talve, ainult mõned kuud veel jäänud.

Sügis toas

Usually we don`t print with so many colours, because it is so time consuming, but when there`s a special order, almost everything is possible, like with these chair pads here.

Tavaliselt me ei trüki nii mitme värviga, kuna see nõuab väga palju aega, eriti kuna me ei trüki meetrite viisi kangast,  aga nende eritellimusel valmistatud toolipatjade puhul tegime erandi ja vahest on endal ka huvitavam.

Our blog has existed in this world already a year! And of course this wooden cutting board is made by the brilliant hands of Jaanus.

Finish

It is strange to say goodbye to something, with what you have worked almost half a year. Actually it was a month and a half full of hard and intensive work and now there were left some last finishing touches - temporary wooden pumpstops were replaced with steel ones.
The client asked me if our studio could  build him some kind of huge scales, of course I said we can. As I continued to develop designs for this project, I realised, that few blacksmiths skills are not enough to make things like this to happen, so I contacted my old teacher from the art college, blacksmith Alar Tamm (http://www.separaud.ee/)

As always, when something is in your past, then it will come to haunt you. With those scales it is the same, in following weeks we will be casting weights for this very same set of scales. As I say casting, i mean making patterns for the casting company, anyway it will be an interesting challange.
